Overhead transmission line located next to a playground in a residential neighborhood

An existing overhead transmission line (120 to 315 kV) runs close to a children’s playground in a residential neighborhood in Ontario, Canada. The center of the power line is approximately 100 feet (30 meters) from the structure. Measurements taken at the site during winter showed medium values. In other locations at similar distances, values have been recorded that exceed limits set by countries that enforce strict regulations for children’s playgrounds.
